From 3-5 November 2010, the eSafety Challenge was present in Paris where Automobile Clubs from all over the world participated in FIA meetings and in the FIA Foundation Annual General Meeting. Both the FIA and the FIA Foundation are involved in the European Commission funded eSafety Challenge project.
In his speech at the FIA Foundation Annual General Meeting, Jacob Bangsgaard, Director General of eSafetyAware and Director of International Relations of the FIA Foundation, presented the activities of the eSafety Challenge and the campaign video was shown to the many FIA Foundation members. The video promotes eSafety technologies and has received support from some of the world’s best drivers such as Fernando Alonso, Lewis Hamilton, Michael Schumacher, Heikki Kovalainen, Robert Kubica, Timo Glock, Giancarlo Fisichella, Tom Kristensen, and Susie Stoddart.
During the event, the eSafety Challenge was also present with an information stand which was visited by a large number of delegates from automobile clubs where they obtained information on the promoted eSafety technologies. Some of these clubs have been involved in eSafety Challenge activities to raise national awareness of eSafety and more clubs will be involved in national events during the coming years of eSafety campaigning.
